Airports
NetWatch provides a suit of surveillance products ideal for airports. It enables: warnings of perimeter fence breaches, camera and target mapping, car parking and movement records, and behaviour monitoring.
MIST can detect 'targets' leaving bags, and occupants leaving illegally parked vehicles etc.
The networking ability of NetWatch means video data can be made instantly available to all departments requiring it, including, customs and excise, local security, police, immigration control, defence and disaster management. Given appropriate permissions, individual departments can directly access the video archive or live video, without interrupting video recording or other data distribution.
Sea: Ports and Harbours
A comprehensive surveillance system can be constructed using Thermal Imaging cameras that will detect and track the movement of vessels and people.
Unauthorised movements can be quickly brought to the attention of operators. The system contains target tracking, identification, range, bearing, mapping and map co-ordinates.

NetWatch is equipped with a set of features developed especially for the detection of vessels near ports and docks and people near vessels.
Rail: Stations and Depots
The ability of NetWatch Motion Image Separation Technology to detect intrusion into restricted areas day or night makes it an ideal choice for the protection of stations and rail depots. Video data can be made instantly available to security staff. The NetWatch system has the ability to give verbal warnings (via a PA system) to intruders that they have been detected and not to cross live rails etc.
The target identification and tracking facility reduces false alarms as it will not respond to the random motion of trees and litter etc. blowing in the wind, but it will always respond when thermal images moving systematically towards or across 'virtual trip wires' drawn into scenes.
Rail: Rolling Stock
The NetWatch range contains a rail industry type approved video recorder and train data logger. Each recorder provides inputs for up to 8 cameras and up to 8 channels of analogue signals. The video channels are normally used for passenger surveillance, the analogue channels can be used for monitoring variables such as radio signal strengths, train loading etc.
The system provides a comprehensive set of features configurable for either unattended use or for applications where train crew need to view video. Systems are in wide spread use with over 600 now in service.
Road
NetWatch provides many useful features for traffic surveillance and for protection of remote depots, where the system is used mainly to detect intruders. Visual Intelligence combined with the networking capability means intruders can be reliably detected instantly and an appropriate response organised. The system has also been used to aid compliance with health and safety requirements where lone workers at remote locations can be monitored by operation room staff.
The National Assembly For Wales also makes good use of the system to detect youngsters throwing things from bridges. The image detection technology is able to detect people on bridges record the video and alert operators to stone throwing incidents.
Advances in Visual Intelligence now enable even more specific detection criteria to be set, for instance occupants leaving cars can be detected, meaning the system can differentiate between a car stopped in traffic and an illegally parked vehicle.
The ability to quickly, easily and simultaneously distribute video data to response teams at many different locations speeds response times, improves system effectiveness, and reduces operational costs.
